Turn on alerts on Android
Get alerts on Android phones and tablets, and make them pop up on screen.
Alerts work the same way for weddings, conferences and recitals.
What you'll be alerted about
- Weddings: a reminder 10 minutes before each part of the day, and a notice when things are running late.
- Conferences: a reminder 10 minutes before each session starts.
- Recitals: a reminder 10 minutes before the show starts, and a notice when it's running late.
Turn alerts on
- 1Open the event link you were sent in Chrome.
- 2Tap Turn on under “Get alerts on this phone”, then tap Allow.
Optional: tap the ⋮ menu and Add to home screen so the event opens like an app.
Make alerts pop up on screen
Android sometimes delivers website alerts quietly. To make them pop up:
- 1When the next RunOrder alert arrives, long-press it and tap the settings cog.
- 2Choose Alert (not Silent).
- 3Turn on Pop-up (it may be called “Show as pop-up”).
On Samsung phones you can also go to Settings → Notifications → App notifications → Chrome (or RunOrder) → Notification categories → run-order.com.
Not getting alerts?
- Check that notifications are allowed for Chrome (or RunOrder) in your phone's Settings → Notifications.
- Battery saver and Do Not Disturb can delay or hide alerts.
- Try tapping Turn on again on the event page.
